Whiff — Privacy Policy

Whiff does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.

What stays on your phone

• Your dog profiles and scan history are stored only on your device.
• Photos of food labels are processed on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.

What the app downloads

Whiff makes two kinds of network requests, both plain downloads that carry no personal data:

• The grading database (food and manufacturer records), fetched from our server so grades stay current.
• The recall feed, derived from the U.S. FDA's public recall announcements. Matching recalls against the foods you feed happens on your device.

Like any web request, these expose your IP address to the hosting provider (Vercel) while the request is served. We do not log, store, or profile it.

Purchases

Whiff Plus is bought through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details.

Notifications

Recall alerts are local notifications generated on your device. Nothing about your dog or your foods leaves the phone.
